We disregarded the top 40 music entirely, and focused on classic rock and oldies, mixing it up with a bit of blues and R&B. That seemed to work pretty well for a while. Music and dance for years have gone hand in hand and will continue to do so long after we've left this earth. At least that would be the hope. It would be like having children without laughter and that would be a sad world in which to live. Teach them that dancing is a great way to express joy and that laughter is the best thing to follow their dance. If you want to keep your children dancing then you must teach them to dance. Teach them that it is okay to dance and be silly around the house. That it is okay to dance their way through their chores (hey if it makes them smile while taking out the trash I say go for it!). I would hate to see what a world without dance would be like.

Though I don’t watch music videos on MTV any longer, my husband turns on some videos on occasion. I look at the guys that I thought were so cute back then, and I don’t understand what I saw in them. It’s almost embarrassing to watch them today, as it reminds me of how nutty I was about it. If it is up to me, I never watch music videos any longer, but if they are on and something good comes on I don’t mind going down memory lane.
