I could have listened to CDs, but the CD player went through an entire set of batteries in just one day. I was in my mid-twenties before I listened to top 40 music. At that time, the thought of buying rechargeable batteries had not crossed my mind. I just couldn’t afford to buy that many batteries. I had a data entry job, and we were allowed to listen to headphones while we worked. I got some and took them in on my very first day, and was disappointed to find that they only stations I could pick up played top 40 music.

It would be like having children without laughter and that would be a sad world in which to live. Music and dance for years have gone hand in hand and will continue to do so long after we've left this earth. At least that would be the hope. Teach them that it is okay to dance and be silly around the house. That it is okay to dance their way through their chores (hey if it makes them smile while taking out the trash I say go for it!). If you want to keep your children dancing then you must teach them to dance. Teach them that dancing is a great way to express joy and that laughter is the best thing to follow their dance. I would hate to see what a world without dance would be like.

Elvis is definitely a music icon like no other. Indeed, even if at some point in history some people grew tired of Elvis music; his legacy will forever be remembered in the music industry and will always be one of the cornerstones of Rock and Roll.

Interesting information on billboards music charts. The top 40 music songs just were not working. Whatever the reason, we were not in sync with what this crowd wanted to hear. As the band leader, I got to decide the songs we played. The Billboard top music songs seemed to work pretty well for a while, but the crowd was not quite with us. They would nod along to the music, and we would make decent tips on most nights, but for the most part no one really listened to what we were doing.
